What to Expect at Your First Visit

Our passion at Sugar Bugs Pediatric Dentistry is to create a wonderful dental home for your children. Doctors Tandi Donaldson, Julie Vuong Taylor, Stormi Winter, and our entire team are committed to providing warm, compassionate experiences and care. We use a gentle and individual approach with the goal of instilling positive dental habits for life. Our practice believes that early, age-appropriate, preventative education can have a lasting, beneficial impact on your child’s health. We educate children and parents in oral health and guide families through their oral growth and development, from infancy through adolescence. Our team is here to help keep your child’s smile healthy with proper brushing and flossing techniques, as well as regularly scheduled dental cleanings. We understand that treating children requires listening and a kind, gentle approach, using child-friendly language and tools to help patients succeed in both preventative and restorative procedures. Parents are welcome to stay by their child’s side during dental visits.

Dental Insurance & Coverage

Each insurance company offers multiple coverage options, and benefits will vary according to your exact plan. Although we have contracts with many dental PPO plans, we may not be contracted with all plans through any company.

Some of the PPO plans with whom we have contracts are Aetna, Ameritas, Cigna, Delta, GEHA, Guardian, Humana, MetLife, Principal, Sun Life, United Healthcare, UNUM. We are also in-network for CHP+ and Medicaid.

Even if we are out of network for your plan, many PPO plans offer out-of-network benefits and may offer coverage at our office. Please call to find out about your specific plan.

Typically, many plans will cover some or all of the costs for preventative care, as well as a portion for restorative/treatment care. The amount covered will depend on the specifics of your plan and care needed.

In addition to accepting most PPO insurance plans, we also accept cash, personal checks, and all major debit/credit cards and offer financing options through Care Credit.
